The process was initiated with installation of Solaris 9 on one Sun SPARC server at NepaSoft premises at Gairidhara, Kathmandu, the interim venue- where initial customization & training activities are taking place. Once the Operating System (OS) was installed with all the correct parameters and partitions, the next step was to install Oracle on the giant server. But the installation of Oracle was stalled until the arrival of the Nurture team and once they were ready the installation went underway. Oracle 9i was the choice version and working in a UNIX environment, the team successfully installed Oracle after a few hours. After Oracle it was the turn of RESIN installation and ONS installation. After all installations were complete, the Apache server, bundled along with Oracle, was configured and started. But the main installation had yet to come, the installation of Finacle itself. After a few grueling hours, the work was completed and it was time to test from a web browser. After un-checking the default JVM from Internet Explorer (IE) and selecting Microsoft JVM and giving full permissions to scripts, applets & COM objects and putting the Finacle site in the 'trusted sites' list, the team was ready to finally run Finacle for the first time.

DATA CENTRE set up is also in full swing at 1st floor of HO Building at Lazimpat, where centralized high-capacity servers will be kept, that are expected to arrive in August’2007.

We shall keep this page updated on a regular basis. Till then …..
