We offer Nepalese Citizens to have a bank account in their home place without having botheration of visiting Nepal for the purpose. At present we have started the facility of account opening and remittance in Delhi through designated Punjab National Bank (PNB) Branches Annex-1.
 

Nepalese Citizens can approach any of the designated Branches of Punjab National Bank and open an account in any of the 14 branches of EBL in Nepal Annex-2 and thereafter can remit funds from India to your account there. When you visit Nepal on business or holiday you need not take the risk of carrying cash during travel. You can draw from your account so opened with Everest Bank Limited.

The Account Opening Form and Specimen Signature Cards are available with “May I help you Counter” at designated PNB Branches.

Initial deposit for opening account at EBL, Nepal is INR. 2000/-.

•  Please bring following documents at the designated PNB Branch while opening account:

Two recent passport size photographs

Copy of Citizenship Certificate/ Passport of Nepal . (Bring original for verification by the Branch)

Note: For defence personnel if they do not have Citizenship Certificate/ Passport of Nepal with them in India and it is at their native place in Nepal, a letter certifying the photo and name and permanent address of the personnel certified by the authorized defence authority can submit, later at the time of visiting Nepal it should be produced in Nepal at EBL Branch.

For opening account in EBL Nepal no introduction and residence proof of India is required to be submitted.

On opening the account you will be given a cheque book of EBL (Cheque book is given on demand at the EBL Branch in Nepal where the account has been opened, if required it can be delivered in India upon request). You can use the cheque for drawing/payments in Nepal or you can authorize any person of your choice to operate the account.

After opening of account at EBL, Nepal , you can remit money at a nominal cost with great speed. The funds will be credited in your account with Everest Bank Ltd in Nepal , usually in 3 working days. (If the customer has already an account at EBL Nepal, the customer do not have to open new account they can remit the funds in their existing account with EBL, Nepal )

Note: It is not compulsory to have an account with PNB for remitting funds in the account at EBL, Nepal .

The designated branches can be added by request in writing from the Commanding officer to our Representative Office in New Delhi India . (for example if a Defence personnel's are remitting funds from PNB, Chandigarh Branch and they are transferred to Jammu Tawi, then they can request through their Commanding Officer to add PNB, Jammu Branch for Account opening and remitting funds to EBL Nepal).

 Besides availing the remittance facility, our branches in Nepal offers loans to eligible borrowers for various purposes like Education loans for pursuing higher studies (professional courses), Loan against property, Loans to professionals are also given, the details of these loans can be taken from our branches in Nepal.

Nepalese Corporate/Companies/Firms etc. exporting their products from Nepal to India can request importers in India to remit proceeds of exports through designated branches of Punjab National Bank (PNB) Annexure-1 . This would save time and expenses on remittance vis-à-vis conventional mode of remittance viz. Draft/TT etc.

Further, we offer Cash Management Service (CMS) through PNB and HDFC Bank covering almost entire India . This facility is very useful to Nepalese exporters exporting their products to different parts/centres in India . They can be saved from the botheration of collecting cheques/Drafts/pay orders etc. from different locations and then presenting them for realization.
